Apple continues to grow its presence on social media. To be more specific, it has opened a new Twitter account to promote the news application that the apple company presented with iOS 9 at WWDC 2015. In the new account, named @AppleNewsAre tweeting what would be interesting publications and news of the most read in Apple News in what appears to be an attempt to encourage us to use your app.
The content is being selected by Apple's American editorial team, as they told us in their first tweet (you have it below). As usual, the company that Tim Cook runs has owned the account for months, but had not published anything until yesterday. What they usually do in these cases is to register the account so that it is not caught by another user and thus be able to keep a name that is easy to remember.

How could it be otherwise, the links to the news use the Apple News format, which is "apple.co/XXXX". It may seem like an unimportant detail but, if we access the link from an iOS device where the application is available, it will open the news in Apple News. This is a way of getting us into the application and, if we like what we see, it is likely that we will decide to use it as the default news application. The problem is that the application it is only available in the United StatesTherefore, even if we want to, users from other countries still cannot use it.
On the other hand, and as with other URL shortener services, if we access the links from other devices, it will simply expand the address and access the news. The question is, will this new account help users to use Apple News as the default news application?
