Apple Pay officially debuts in Belgium

The system of payments via NFC implemented by the majority of Apple devices is having a very good acceptance but an extension throughout the different territories in an extremely uneven and irregular way, now new countries are added to the list of compatible.

As we said, Belgium is now another country where Apple Pay begins to spread officially. A new country where Apple Pay is going to become popular thanks to the convenience of use and the extra security that the system confers on users.

While in Spain we continue in the integration procedure of certain payment entities such as Cajamar which have been announced a few months ago, but for which the official launch is not expected until at least well into Christmas. The same happened in our country, the deployment was slow, painful and irregular, but at least now the main banking entities are already adhered, after the year of exclusivity that was granted to Banco Santander. However, the contactless payment culture is deeply rooted in countries such as Poland and Spain.

Well I distinguish is Belgium, Apple Pay comes to the country of delicious chocolate from BNP Paribas, Fintro and Hello BankHowever, as you can imagine, there are still a good handful of credit institutions that have not joined the use of Apple Pay with their cards. In this case, it does not appear that Apple Pay in Belgium is subject to any type of card brand such as Visa, MasterCard or American Express. These limitations will be set by the banks themselves with their clients if they so wish. We see with joy the expansion of Apple Pay in Europe, even less having a single currency and a free border crossing treaty. We will continue to make an iron mark on Apple Pay and its expansion.
