Apple has prepared a battery to recharge our iPhone that will be attached to it through the magnets of the MagSafe system, and that you can also recharge your iPhone and AirPods at the same time.
For several generations of iPhone, Apple has launched a battery case to recharge our smartphone without having to use any plug or charging cable. Thanks to the new MagSafe system and its magnetic grip, it was clear that Apple should seize the opportunity to launch An external battery that, without the need for a cover or cable, will be magnetically attached to our iPhone and recharge it. According to Prosser, it will also be possible to charge AirPods at the same time thanks to the reverse charging system.
Specifically, there will be two different MagSafe batteries. One will only serve to recharge the iPhone, while there will be another "Pro" model that will have reverse charging, so We can attach it magnetically to our iPhone and also place the AirPods with a wireless charging case on top, or the AirPods Pro for them to recharge. Both models are being tested by Apple, although Prosser says that finally only one model will be launched, we do not know if the one with reverse charging or the "normal" one.
That Apple is working on this type of external battery seems more than confirmed after traces of a "battery pack" appeared in the iOS 14.5 code that is still in the Beta phase. Mark Gurman has also confirmed this accessory, although it has not said anything about the possibility of including reverse charging. Given that Prosser's track record on Apple releases is somewhat disconcerting, this information should be taken with great caution. We do not know loading capacities or possible launch dates, but since they are accessories designed for the iPhone 12 they should not be too late in the year or they will run into a new iPhone on the doorstep.
