Apple prepares a new program with Octavia Spencer as protagonist

Probably, the year 2018 is the year in which we see how Apple immerses itself in the world of video streaming. 2017 has been a great year for Apple Music, its subscribers have risen quite a bit stalking its main competitor, Spotify. Now comes the turn of the video, a video streaming in which they already participate with the odd original program, but everything indicates that the investment will grow this year.

And we already have news of what will be the next great program, or series, of the boys of the block. A new production in which we will see the Oscar winner Octavia Spencer (winner of the Oscar for best actress for Maids and Ladies), based on the novel Are you sleeping. After the jump we give you all the details of this new production with which they try to make their place in the world of video streaming.

The production will be by producer Hello Sunshine, by Reese Witherspoon (also known for her role as an actress), and the most interesting thing is that this production company focuses a large part of its work on audiovisual products on portraying women in a real way, avoiding the clichés of "conventional" cinema. Are You Sleeping will try to make us think about the consequences of certain acts, all within the judicial framework.

As we said, Apple with this continues on its way to make its place in the world of streaming video. Now, from my point of view I think Apple should end up launching its own Apple VideoIf they want to have more and more content, it must be taken into account that they have a good relationship with film distributors thanks to iTunes, they have to have a platform organized only with audiovisual content. We will see what 2018 holds for us, it will surely be the year of the video.
