After the release of iOS 15.4 a couple of weeks ago, and without prior notice, Apple has just released iOS 15.4.1 and iPadOS 15.4.1 to fix some issues like increased battery consumption which some users complained about.
After two weeks with iOS 15.4 there were many users who were complaining about increased battery consumption after the recent update. It was not a widespread problem but it was frequent enough to think of a bug that Apple should solve, and the solution has arrived today by surprise. Without previous Betas, without any type of notice, Apple has just released iOs 15.4.1 alongside iPadOS 15.4.1 to address, among other issues, issues with excessive battery consumption.
In addition to the versions for iPhone and iPad, Apple has also released the corresponding versions for other devices. Thus, we already have watchOS 8.5.1, macOS 12.3.1 and tvOS 15.4.1 available, which do not incorporate interesting news either, only a long list of bug fixes. The HomePod has also received its corresponding update to HomePod 15.4.1 Fixing issues with Siri that caused some devices to become unresponsive when trying to control using voice and HomePod.
Updates are already showing up in device settings. Remember that you can update manually by accessing those settings at any time, always with enough battery and with a connected WiFi network. O well you can turn on automatic updates, although that will mean that the update will not be installed on your device until two or three weeks have passed since its release. This strange behavior was recently confirmed by Federighi as normal, and not a bug in the iOS automatic update system.
