Apple releases iOS 9.2 with improvements to Safari View Controller

ios-9.2

On the day of the Immaculate Conception and a holiday in Spain, Apple has released iOS 9.2 for all supported devices. This release comes on Tuesday, the usual day that iOS updates arrive, seven weeks after the release of iOS 9.1. The update is now available via OTA or from Apple's developer center. We remind you that in order to update your iPhone, iPod or iPad it is necessary that you have at least 50% of available battery.

In the absence of verifying its operation, it is possible that this update will disappoint many users. The main novelty includes improvements in Safari View Controller, which allows us to see the links without the need to leave the application and use (although this was already available in iOS 9.1) the Reader view or content blockers.

On the other hand, iOS 9.2 also includes the new AT&T NumberSync function, something that, logically, will only be available in countries where AT&T arrives. This feature allows users to send, receive messages, and make calls using their phone number even when their iPhone is not nearby. In addition to the above, something that will not be very important for the vast majority of readers of Actualidad iPhone, Siri “has learned” Arabic, a language that had not been available since the arrival of Apple's virtual assistant in 4 years ago.

iOS 9.2 has been in development for 6 weeks and the first beta came a week after the official launch of iOS 9.1, whose main novelty was more than 150 new emoji. Feel free to comment on your experience with iOS 9.2, especially in terms of performance, something that many users have been complaining about since iOS 9.0 was released in mid-September.

On the other hand, remind all of you who jailbreak your device that you have to stay away from iOS 9.2 in the same way that you should stay away from iOS 9.1. The latest version vulnerable to a public jailbreak is iOS 9.0.2.

    1.    Bermarlop said

+1, Carlos. Also with beta 4. Is the version number known? It is supposed to change from beta 4 ...

    2.    SERGIO said

It happened to me the same way and I did it by DFU mode, that if you must first, MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR EQUIPMENT, ONCE IN MODE dfu RESTORES AND UPDATE AND YOU WILL SEE IOS 9.2 WITH ITS NEWS AND THE CONTRACT FOR YOU TO ACCEPT IT ... WHAT BE LUCKY, SOMETHING HAPPENED WITH HAVING A BETA 4 OF 9.2, ON THE CHANGE WITH 9.1 THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS HAVING A BETA BEFORE… ???

  2.   Rafael Pazos said

installed in an ipad air 1, it is luxurious, the sptolight 1 is perfect !!! they have corrected it !!!

    thanks apple !!

  3.   cr56 said

It is the same build as beta 4, so expectations that the lag will end are fading. What times those of iOS 6…. And what a shame it is to see that an iPhone 4 in iOS 7 is better than an iPhone 4S in iOS 9. And what is worse, what a pity that Apple does not let you put the phone in the versions that came from the factory ...

  4.   Carlos said

So those of us who have beta 4 do not have to update ??? It has been 3 weeks and they have not made any changes ????

  5.   Byron said

How does AT&T service work? I did not understand anything, can someone explain it to me please

  6.   Luis Javier said

I have on my two ipad ios 9.2 beta 4 and the same on the iphone and I do not get any update ... 3 weeks waiting for what? Is the GM version exactly the same as the beta 4? I do not understand anything….

  7.   danfg95 said

If you use a public beta, the final version will not come out until you delete the profile that is installed on the iPhone in order to be iOS beta testers. (I have not tested it with this version but with previous versions yes). If you are a developer, it will offer you the latest version via OTA without any problems. I hope a greeting will serve you.

They have changed the way multitasking works. I like it better now.

    1.    Jordi said

Hi Joan, what do you mean that changes how multitasking works? What is the difference between 9.1 and 9.2 on iPhone? Thanks

  9.   Jordi said

What? What do you mean that they have changed the way multitasking works? I have iOS 9.1 and downloading 9.2 ... What will I notice? Is everything more fluid?
    Thank you!

    1.    joan16v said

When you double-click the home button, before in 9.1 it was very imprecise to navigate with your finger between open applications. Now you go one by one.

  10.   Luis or Gonzalez said

I have ios 9.2 beta 4 and I already deleted the profile and not even so I get the update ???

  11.   luxury said

I had ios 9.2 beta 4 installed, I have uninstalled the ios public beta profiles of the 3 devices that I have, I have rebooted and also shut down…. The latest version ios 9.2 still does not come out, which seems very strange to me, does it happen to someone else? Any other idea?

    1.    Luis or Gonzalez said

      The same happens to me

  12.   luxury said

Well, I'm afraid that the final version is the same as the beta 4, if this is true, it would seem incredible and a bit shameful that after 3 weeks they had not made any changes to the final version, so that they would then make the theater wait For a final version, if so, is it finished for 3 weeks?
I hope I am confused and that it does not come out due to a simple error.

  13.   jesus said

The same, as all of us who have ios 9.2 beta 4. I don't get an update, remove the beta profile and nothing at all
    🙁

  14.   titi said

Put the iPhone in recovery mode.after turning it off.pressing the home button and connect it with iTunes.Keep it that way until the itunes logo appears on the iPhone screen.then iTunes asks you for the update.

  15.   luxury said

I have tried to remove the profile, restart, turn off ... Even install a new profile, search and nothing ... again uninstall it and restart ... I think it is not in our hands and apple will have to solve it.

  16.   Me ;) said

I just hope that disgusting LAG goes away !! That was enough for me.

I have iPhone 6 and with the tricks that I saw on this page they decreased but there they are still ..

  17.   Javier said

This is going to be luxurious !!!! Thanks apple !!!

  18.   Manu said

I have the same problem, beta 4 profile of 9.2 and the official version does not skip, what should the profile be deleted, also restarted and nothing at all I imagine that we will have to restore itunes, does anyone know something?

  19.   titi said

I also tried to restore it from itunes and now it is downloading the 9.2 official

  20.   Luis said

Hello good Morning. I have 9.2 public beta 4 and in addition to not getting the update to the official version, I have been given a period of 60 minutes to change the unlock code from 6 digits to 4 digits. Does anyone know anything about this?

  21.   Manu said

Someone who has the official version of 9.2 could tell me if the version is (13C75) if so it is the same as the beta4 publishes

    1.    Juan Fco Carretero (@ Juan_Fran_88) said

It is the same version, I have the official 9.2

  22.   Jordy said

For all those who have a beta, the final version will not come out! They must restore the iphone using DFU mode AND IN THIS WAY ITUNES WILL UPDATE THEM TO IOS 9.2 !!!

  23.   doorstein said

Has anyone tried it on the iPad Mini 1? Is it worth going from iOS 8 to 9.2?

    1.    Alberto Cordoba Carmona said

Absolutely NO. I have the 5S in iOS 8.4.1 and there it will be seeing that they have not yet been able to solve the disgusting lag in the Control Center. Do not do it because you will regret it.

      1.    doorstein said

OK thanks. Although I have iOS 9.0.2 on the iPhone 5 and the control center and, in general, everything works for me.

Those of you who have problems updating from OTA will never get out ...

    Do this.

1-Connect your device to iTunes, make a copy.
2-Then disconnect and turn off your device.
3-Press home and connect (keep pressing home) until the apple turns on and the iTunes icon and the cable appear
4-In iTunes a message will appear putting update or restore, you give it to update, READY!

    Enjoy your iOS 9.2.

  25.   jesud said

Do what was commented by Javier Pazos and OK.
    Thank you

  26.   Trujillo said

Hi, I have managed to download and install via iTunes and the official 9.2 on iPhone 5 and so far good impressions, it has gained fluency at least, it's a matter of continuing to test ...

  27.   Rodry said

Thanks for the advice Rafael Pazos !!!

  28.   Louis said

I have an iPhone 6, update via OTA and everything is fine, if I feel a little more fluid with respect to 9.1

  29.   Rodrigo said

Well after so much fighting if I could install 9.2 official I followed the steps that Rafael took and I could I have a 4g 64s and it is true it shows much faster and fluid everything ok

  30.   John Cozzarin said

if 9.2 is not installed automatically in those that we have beta, I presume that apple will start at any moment with the first beta of 9.3 ... ..as if it has done it with ios 9.0 and 9.1

  31.   Jon said

Without jailbreak ... we will continue with 9.0.2 as And so happy

i updated iphone 6 from ios 9.1 to 9.2 and lost everything on my photo and video roll.
    Someone else happens?

  33.   Carlos said

They seem like a p…. Joke and IOS updates ... I have updated to IOS 9.2 and now it won't let me update the applications that I have installed and some that I already have updated I get a notice to update them ... But if they are already updated !!!!!!! It is a real shame I have an iPhone 6s Plus and this already seems a shame….

  34.   Juan said

I had a terrible lag. I upgraded from 9.1 to 9.2 and I couldn't do anything, my iPhone 6s Plus didn't have the touch screen working. I only recognized the footprint and from there it did not happen, I restarted it 10 times and nothing. I had to restore and it was solved. I hope it does not happen to anyone.

  35.   Carlos said

I think I must be the luckiest guy in the world ... I've been updating iOS including its betas since the first iPhone there was in 2007 and nothing has ever happened to me and I say updating not restoring ... I will have done since then about 3 clean restorations the rest all updates and my 6S Plus goes like a shot and I have never had the slightest problem… I said… I must be very lucky.

  36.   Luis said

He has been doing the applications for me since iOS 9 on both the iPad and the iPhone ... It gives me problems, they synchronize and they come out again, or they do not synchronize ... A disaster ... I do not know if it will be iOS or the App Store

  37.   Juan said

Something has changed in IOS 9.2. I see Flash in Safari.

  38.   Carlos said

Well after restoring the iPhone yesterday 2 times I managed to get the applications to load well ... Today only 24 hours later ... I am having problems again ... The applications are not downloaded, the updates are left hanging ... This is really a joke spend 900 euros on an iPhone and every day something happens…. Since IOS 9 came this is one shit after another…. Then we will say about android but IOS is showing off ... I do not give a kick to the mobile because it is worth a fortune ... Shameful about the gentlemen of Apple ....

I have updated to iOS 9.2 on the iPad air2, and when accessing the App Store, I get a blank screen. I cannot access highlights or explore. I have reset my Apple ID with the same negative result. Does anyone know the solution?

    1.    Paul Aparicio said

Hi, Rafa. Apparently what you mention has nothing to do with iOS 9.2 because I have also seen it since last night and I have installed iOS 9.0.2 with jailbreak. I thought it was something about the jailbreak that made me the heck, but reading your comment I am inclined to think that something is wrong with the App Store and that it is Apple's fault.

I have no further news about this problem, but if I find out about something or how to fix it, I will post it.

      A greeting.

      1.    Rafa said

        Thank you.
However, on the iPhone I can see the entire App Store (with the version of iOS 9.1 that I have NOT updated yet).

        1.    Rafa said

I just updated the iPhone to iOS9.2 and that problem with the App Store DOES NOT appear, that is, I can see the entire App Store from the phone. Strange.

          1.    Paul Aparicio said

Hello again, Rafa. You are like me. I can't see it on the iPad (a detail that I hadn't explained); on the iPhone yes.

            A greeting.

            1.    Rafa said

I have sent an email to the technical service, but I am afraid that until Monday there will be no response. If I find out something, I'll post it here.

iPhone 6s Plus… IOS 9.2… I keep having problems updating and downloading applications…. Either they don't download or they hang me…. Or they just don't appear ... I've been having problems with the AppStore for three days now, does it happen to me alone? Does anyone know something? I have looked on the internet, Google, but there is no news….
