Along with the beta versions of the operating system, Apple released Xcode 8 today being all in a single developer package, this new version is compatible with the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV. The new IDE has extensions to customize the coding experience, as well as runtime alerts, a new memory debugger, and an accelerated build interface. Developers can download the new Xcode from the developer portal Apple.
Apple has also dramatically improved code signing, which was a major headache for developers. This is how Apple explains the new system and it seems everything is automatic.
Device setup and code signing are greatly simplified, while providing more control when they need it. The new code signing is managed automatically, thus generating all the configurations they need to sign properly, being convenient, and running their applications on a connected Apple device. They just have to choose their equipment and Xcode does the rest. You also have the option of manually collecting provisioning profiles and configuring the signing process for each configuration that is generated. If you run into any problems, improved error logs and messages are available in the Report Navigator. And if they have multiple Macs, Xcode will automatically generate a unique development certificate for each Mac.
An improvement long awaited by many developers and that is now possible to use.
