Apple Seeks FCC Approval for Wireless Device

Any electronic device that wants to reach the North American market must pass Federal Communications Commission (FCC) controls. On more than one occasion we have published information related to a company device that had passed the filters of this body or that was pending to do so. Last September, Apple requested this body to carry out the necessary tests in order to be marketed, a device baptized as A1844, as a model number. We have learned little more about this device, except that it allowed NFC and Bluetooth wireless connections.

Again the guys from Cupertino have presented a new wireless device that offers the same connections, NFC and Bluetooth, and whose serial number is A1846, which could be a revision of the model that it presented in the month of September of last year. There is currently no Apple device with a similar numbering to that. Also, there is no photo that can get us out of doubt about what this device could be. The only thing that could be guessed from the product label is that it is a device with slightly curved edges and two Torx screws.

Initially it was speculated that it could be a new model of Apple TV, but it was quickly discarded as both the product description and the FCC labeling seemed to indicate that it is not a product that will go on sale, but rather it is a device for internal use in the company or also It is likely that it is the iBeacon beacons, which would be aimed at businesses that want to implement them in their facilities to offer information about their products as customers approach.
