Apple slaves

Following the passing of Steve Jobs this year, hundreds of media outlets around the world opened covers the next day with the face of the Apple co-founder and headlines using accolades such as "the genius," "the inventor of the XNUMXst century," and " the representative of the American dream ». Some unexpected reactions that, added to the tributes of Apple fans in stores around the world, made us forget other darker points of Steve Jobs.

The official biography written by Walter Isaacson does not hide some of the most negative aspects of Jobs, such as his constant criticism of Bill Gates and his authoritarian way of working with groups of people. But what about the Chinese factories of Foxconn, a company hired by Apple to assemble the iPad, iPhone and iPod?

Continue reading:

This year, American politicians were criticized for encouraging Apple to invest in American factories instead of Chinese. Why doesn't Apple, one of the most valuable companies in the market, invest in factories located in your country? In this sense, Steve Jobs was smart and decided to take advantage of the cheap labor available in Chinese factories. Places where employees work double shifts every day of the week, without working conditions and without any job security. Situations that have already caused the death of dozens of employees in just two years.

Issues like this and environmental damage are avoided by Apple. Only in this second point does the apple company improve slightly due to pressure from organizations such as Greenpeace and Chinese NGOs.

As for the suicides of Foxconn employees, Apple and the Chinese company tried to wash their image, saying they would offer psychologists to the workers. What did they offer the employees? ORA new clause in their contracts asking factory workers and their families not to report Apple or Foxconn if they suffer damage to their jobs or commit suicide.

Without a doubt, these are pending tasks for Apple in 2012. We hope we do not have to hear news of new incidents, suicides or explosions.

This delicate issue and which I consider the "scourge" of the XNUMXst century, not only affects Apple but also a huge number of companies of great weight that become what they are thanks to the use of labor from underdeveloped countries or simply "bordering on" human exploitation (in the textile field, it reaches levels of "fireworks"). Unfortunately, I fear that it is a loop from which it will never get out (no matter how much you try to make up the situation, and if not, let's see which "developed" country would accept those working conditions for that salary).
    Greetings.

Hello, I think that the title is very, too shod. The first thing is that these employees have absolutely nothing to do with Apple, they are employees of Foxconn, Yaun and other companies, and they not only manufacture parts for Apple, they also do it for many more companies, including themselves. The other thing is that the companies that use this type of company in China and other Asian countries have nothing to do with it, this is the fault of the respective governments that allow these companies to exploit their employees in this way. On the other hand, if Foxconn paid its employees better, surely many companies would change providers, which would lead to a massive layoff of employees since so many workers would no longer be needed. You have to be a bit more objective, do you really believe that the Chinese company that creates xboxes or Sony televisions in China has a better environment and better remuneration for its employees? It is more to this day, the Chinese workers of the companies that work manufacturing parts for Apple are the best, see how the others are, those of tals above all, they would realize what I am talking about. The only problem here is the Chinese government… Why don't they change the title for China's slaves? Or why not directly criticize the government?

Apple fills his mouth talking about avant-garde and quality of life. So at least he works and looks for suppliers who also do it the same as them, or who make an effort to improve the conditions of their employees. Here we see that obviously Apple always seeks to maximize profits and the issue of quality of life is only a marketing point and not a philosophical one as it is sold.
Apple simply shouldn't work with vendors who enslave their workers on principle, but nevertheless do so for profit. In the end, business is business and the company goes where "they charge the cheapest, regardless of the quality of life."

I did remember the Foxcon employees the day Jobs died. The reaction of the media and Internet users giving their condolences to the Jobs family seemed so exaggerated ... that I could not help but bring up all the deaths in the Chinese company. I did it in a bad way, but it seemed to me too servility towards those who exploit people with impunity, like those Koreans who mourn their dictator.
Someone accused me of being a demagogue, saying that Apple is not to blame, as some put it here, ignoring, I believe, what is now called in the business world "CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY.
It is true that it is not only Apple, that sometimes our own rulers take entrepreneurs to the East who want to "open the market" (cheap labor); but the title is adequate because it tries to stir consciences and, moreover, it does not tell any lies

    Hypocrites ...
    1) it is FOXCOMM (as they already say out there), 2) you are just saying that Apple should look for suppliers that pay their employees correctly, while most of you buy Chinese products because they are cheaper ...
Well, the same thing happens with companies ... they will look for the cheapest labor force.
But surely you, as long as your companies have, will look for the Quality of their employees without looking at what it costs them ... COME NOW!

It seems to me that Apple is not responsible for absolutely any of this, they hire a company to make the dot devices for them. If anyone has to be blamed, it is Foxconn, who is the one who enslaves its employees.

(And it's FoxcoNN, just do a quick google search)

It is the great scourge of our modern world… Obtain profitability. Uncle Jobs should have been generous and created jobs in the US ... But that's a utopia, right?

All the gentlemen defenders of Apple blaming FOXCONN ... As it is not Apple who enslaves directly, nothing happens right? If FOXCONN is enslaving in this way it is in order to meet the expectations of its customers, FOXCONN exploits its employees, but Apple exploits FOXCONN. Why Apple users change devices more than underwear / panties!

Foxconn employs 1,2 million workers, one million of whom are at its Chinese facilities. In addition to Apple, its clients include Dell, HP, Nokia and Sony. This information is taken from the Country. But it turns out that Apple sells more, is it not news interested in the competition?

I THINK MANY TALK ABOUT MORE, IT SEEMS THAT APPLE IS THE ONLY ONE ...
WHERE THE REST OF THE EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURE ...
As reported by Reuters, Apple has seen sales losses in France, Germany, Italy and Spain. Customers with little money, opt for the cheapest phones.
"In Britain, the United States and Australia, the new Apple iPhone continues to fly," said Dominic Sunnebo, director of global vision for Kantar Worldpanel Consumers Comtech, the company that carried out the search. However, this trend is far from universal. »
Apple's market share increased from 11% to 36% in the last three months in the United States and from 10% to 31% in the United Kingdom. But in France it has dropped from 29% to 20% from the previous year and even in Germany with 22% from 27% last year.
Google Android, with its broader price range, has market shares between 46% and 61% across Europe. Android especially dominates in Germany, with 61% of smartphone sales in the last three months, it is the best-selling Samsung Galaxy S2.
What is the cause of this trend in Europe? The iPhone 4S is too expensive?
    TALK TO TALK ...
AT THE STEP WE GO ... WE WILL HAVE TO BE WORKING THE SAME AS THEM ...
DO YOU BELIEVE THAT THE QUALITY OF LIFE AND THE WELL-BEING STATE WILL BE MAINTAINED WITH THE LOOSS AND RAPE IN SPAIN ??

When talking about mobiles, it is said Apple's iPhone and Android (from Google), Android has XX% of the market and iPhone only X%, but if we analyze it, iPhone (with IOS system) is only manufactured by Apple and the Android system is It uses practically the rest of the smartphones in the rest of the world, that is, one against the world's challenge. BlackBery is going to close. That is why it is necessary to inform to be well of what is said, if the headline that concerns us instead of "The slaves of Apple" would have been "The slaves of vete sua saber" someone would have listened to it, well no, I could be wrong.
