Apple stops signing iOS 12.1 one day after releasing iOS 12.1.2

The Cupertino-based company allows us at almost any time, to install the last two versions of iOS that it has launched on the market, in this way, if the latest version presents a problem among users, you can always go back to the previous version. On December 5, Apple released the final version of iOS 12.1.1.

A little over 24 hours ago, Apple released iOS 12.1.2 by surprise, a minor update that fixed the problems that some users had when configuring the eSIM, a feature that was launched precisely with iOS 12.1.1. Once two versions of iOS are on the market, it is time to stop signing a third.

Apple has stopped signing iOS 12.1, in this way, if you have a problem with your device, you will only be able to install iOS 12.1.2 through Apple's servers, or iOS 12.1.1 if you have the firmware, since They are the only versions that Apple signs from its servers today. If you try to install any other version, you will be able to do it without problems, but your device will never go beyond the activation screen.

Apple has been forced to release this update quickly to also try to solve the problem you are facing with Qualcomm in China, as the microchip maker has managed to block iPhone sales in the country, a blockage that Apple is trying to avoid with an update and if it is not enough, move production from Foxconn to Pegatron.

As Qualcomm stated yesterday, this new update continues infringing on company patents, so in theory the solution that Apple has sought to avoid the blockage is not valid. There are many doubts about which are the patents and / or reasons why both companies are facing each other, since some information that is due to some functions of iOS 12, while other sources affirm that it is all the terminals that are affected because of this lock, not just from iPhone 6s to iPhone X.
