Apple stops signing iOS 9.2 on some devices

ios-9.2

As usual every time Apple releases an iOS update, after a few days stop signing the previous version, in this case it is version 9.2. But causally it has not stopped signing on all devices, it has only stopped signing the older models.

We do not know the reasons why Apple has only stopped signing old devices, but perhaps it could be seen because these models have some important vulnerability that is solved with iOS 9.2.1 and you do not want them to be exposed to those risks under any circumstances.

The models that Apple has stopped allowing the possibility of downgrading to iOS 9.2 are the following:

  • iPhone 4s
  • iPad 2 (Wi-Fi)
  • iPad 2 (Wi-Fi & Cellular)
  • iPad 2 (Wi-Fi & CDMA Cellular)
  • iPad 3 with retina display (Wi-Fi & Verizon Cellular)
  • iPad 3 with retina display (Wi-Fi & AT&T Cellular)

At the moment we are clear according to the post we published a few days ago, that it is possible to Jailbreak iOS 9.3 (which is currently in beta phase) but at the moment we do not know when it will be possible to enjoy that possibility, since previously it was also uncovered that iOS 9.2.1 was vulnerable and to this day no one has released the necessary software so that we can do it on our devices.

We hope that Luca Todesco, who has demonstrated this possibility, will finish preparing the necessary software so that users can freely Jailbreak their phones although according to assures it is not his final intention after having achieved it. Currently the Jailbreak that has been achieved is unattended so we can restart our device as many times as necessary that we will continue to enjoy the Jailbreak.

Currently the latest version compatible with the Jailbreak is iOS 9.0.2 so if you continue to enjoy it, do not think about updating to any of the later versions that Apple has released so far, until it is officially confirmed that it can be Jailbroken in any of the later updates.

That vulnerability would surely be very very very serious, sure.
