The latest news points to an Apple "giving away" money to North American users who buy an Apple TV. This may be a bad sign (the device is not selling as it should) or that Apple may want to remove a lot of stock at once for some reason. This reason may be related to the rumor that Apple would launch a new Apple TV 4K this same 2022. After launching a new model last year with a new processor and a new Siri remote, it seems that this year the benefits of Apple TV would be further improved.
Rumors, however, they do not point (at least for now) to a redesign of the device with the arrival of the 4K model in 2022. In fact, since its launch back in 2010, the device has mostly kept the same original design, being a box that grew in height a few years later.
In May, the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo commented that Apple would be preparing a cheaper Apple TV, to fill the gap it currently has with its competitors such as the Amazon Fire Stick and thus also improve the current cost structure of the Apple TV. Apart from these rumours, no other analyst has corroborated or shared this predictionIn June alone, Mark Gurman said that Apple would be preparing a new Apple TV coded as J255 with an A14 chip and better RAM that would allow better gaming capabilities.
Last year and as we have mentioned, one of the novelties of the Apple TV 4K was the new Siri remote control. Made of aluminum and with an iPod-style wheel, this year it could be modified again. And it is that according to 9to5Mac nobody can confirm that it will change, but it would make all the sense in the world that Introduce Find My Device functionality to your remote so you never get lost around the house again.
The launch of a new Apple TV 4K could change its price in the same way as is expected with the iPhone 14 Due to the current world situation, however, Ming-Chi has not commented on the matter and we do not know if it would maintain prices with the same current storage.
They are all rumors about the possible new App TV 4K, but surely many of users expect a good facelift to a device that chokes Apple a bit in order to grow in the market.
