The Apple TV was another of the devices that underwent a slight renovation in the last Keynote, we refer to 4K resolution support, something that surprisingly did not include natively, but now it does. However, not all the mountain is oregano with this device, apparently for now they are not finding the utility that it should be presumed to be.
Among the problems mentioned, Apparently the YouTube application does not reproduce content in 4K resolution at all. The world's largest video provider is standing by on the Apple TV 4K, and this is nowhere near good news for its owners.
In case the fact that Apple TV does not even have an application for the most demanded streaming content provider in Spain (Movistar +), now the other favorite of users (YouTube) continues to be shown on Apple TV 4K exactly the same that was shown on the previous Apple TV. A real shame that Apple is not showing itself at the software level to match the products presented. We can understand that YouTube is owned by Google and they are the ones who have not seen fit to update the app, but the reality is that perhaps Apple should have made some approach to show its intentions.
Apparently the Apple TV does not support Atmos technology, because YouTube 4K HDR is totally out of reach, we will have to settle for seeing everything in FullHD resolution. Apple still does not show support for VP9, the YouTube video format. It is something that they knew before launching the product and that of course they have not done to alleviate it. Meanwhile, those who have made the first reviews are showing your disenchantment with a product that seems to have not innovated at all, which might not justify its price.
