Today we learned that they have signed a contract for several years with the animation film production company Skydance Animation to create new movies and series for Apple TV +.
Hollywood Reporter reported this week that Apple today signed a new multi-year collaboration agreement with Skydance Animation to create new movies and television series for Apple TV +.
This pact leads to the animation films «Luck" Y "Spellbound»Will premiere on Apple TV +. These two films were signed by Paramount, but through a new agreement it has allowed Skydance to negotiate with the tapes at will.
The two productions were initially scheduled to hit theaters in 2022, and are still likely to hit the big screen before they hit Apple TV +. It all depends on how it evolves the state of the current pandemic.
The third project that Apple and Skydance have signed so far are two seasons of the animated series «The Search of WondLa«. It is an original series based on the novels by Tony DiTerlizzi. It will be written and executive produced by showrunner Lauren Montgomery, with Chad Quant, DiTerlizzi and Gotham Group also serving as executive producers.
John Lasseter is the head of animation for Skydance. Lasseter had a long career at Disney and Pixar, working on movies such as Toy Story, A Bug's Life and Cars, but left the company in 2018 after being accused of sexual harassment.
