On September 24, Apple TV + premiered its much-anticipated and long-awaited series 'Fundación'. With one delivery a week, the series has become one of the best in the entire service catalog on demand from the big apple and it seems this is only just beginning. Two days ago the fourth chapter of the first season was released. In fact, Apple have not waited for the season to end to announce that there will be a second season of Fundación.
More Asimov, more Foundation seasons on Apple TV +
Apple announced months ago the arrival of Foundation a fiction series what would I adapt the famous saga of science novels by Isaac Asimov that have traveled the whole world. Specifically, the series focuses on the original trilogy based on the books Foundation, Foundation and Empire y Second Foundation. These books received the Hugo Award for the best fiction series of all time.
Both David S. Goyer and Skydance Television, who are the showrunners of the series, have been very happy to receive the series. In fact, Goyer claimed in many interviews that his goal with Fundación was to have 8 seasons. A difficult challenge though Apple TV + announced a second season of Foundation.
Now, with season two, our audience will be able to visit more of Asimov's indelible characters and worlds, including Hober Mallow, General Bel Riose, and all of the Outer Suns. I am delighted that a whole new generation of fans is reading Asimov's brilliant masterpiece. We are playing long term with Foundation and I am grateful to my partners from Apple and Skydance for entrusting me with this epic.
Some sources assure that the renewal would have arrived in November 2019. From Apple TV + they are also hopeful about this new season. This was what Matt Cherniss, the head of programming for the service, used to know:
