Apple updates AirPods V2 with new firmware

AirPods

As you may have heard if you have recently visited our Podcast or our website, the AirPods Pro recently received an update as we have told you here at Actualidad iPhone. However, as you may have noticed, the rest of the headphones in the AirPod range have not received an update, until now. The moment has come, the Cupertino company has released a firmware update that affects the second version of the AirPods. This is how the North American company continues to bet on improving the performance of its headphones, important to know since many users are unaware that their AirPods also receive updates.

The previous version of the AirPods firmware was 2A364, while the one recently released by the Cupertino company is version 2D15. As we have said, this update affects only AirPods V2 or second generation AirPods, in principle it will not reach users who have the first version of AirPods. It can be a bit complicated to know if your AirPods are updated or not, and it is totally impossible to force the update, that is, update them manually. They will be updated when the system deems appropriate and you will only be able to check if they have been updated or not.

To check if your AirPods second generation are updated to the latest version, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you have the AirPods connected to the iPhone or iPad
  2. Open the settings app
  3. Choose the «General» option
  4. Enter the «Information» section
  5. Click on the text «AirPods» or the name you have given it specifically

There you will be able to check the Firmware version, if it matches the 2D15, which is the last one in force. This is the third update if we take into account that already in December they were updated to version 2C54.
