It has to be said that the update process for AirPods and AirPods Pro is quite transparent, nothing similar to what we see when updating the iPhone, Apple Watch, or any of our devices. In the case of AirPods We will have to have them inside the box, and this in turn is paired to our iPhone or iPad. Simply with that, the update should be forced. The new firmware version for both AirPods Pro and AirPods 2 is 2C54; previously the AirPods Pro used the 2B588 and the AirPods 2 the 2A364.
How to check the firmware of the AirPods?
- Check that you have AirPods connected to your device.
- Open the Settings app.
- Click on General.
- We enter Information.
- We will see the AirPods section where we can check what firmware we have in our AirPods.
Good news without a doubt that denotes that Apple has found the odd bug and has launched the consequent improvement for these Cupertino headphones. I do not think that more updates will be released (with the launch of the first AirPods new firmwares were also launched), however as we say well by Apple for fixing the small bugs of the latest headphones of the brand. If you are one of those who buy a pair of AirPods on these dates, surely the new units will already arrive with the latest updated version, or you will will update automatically when you connect them for the first time to your device.
