Apple Watch now includes a shorter cable, just one meter

charger-apple-watch

As many of you already know, with the arrival of the original Apple Watch in its day, we received a two-meter charging cable in the box. However, it seems that this is not a custom that will continue in the Apple Watch Series 1 and Series 2, a slight change, and that is that Apple has announced that the charging cable that the new Apple Watch devices will include will be only one meter. This represents a 50% reduction in the size of the courtesy cable included in the box, something that without a doubt is not going to please many users, cable is never superfluous.

On the other hand, Apple will continue to sell its two-meter cables in the Apple Store at the low price of € 39, meanwhile, the one-meter cables will be sold for € 29. Be careful with this, the one meter cable can be excessively short for many users, and that is why many controversies have been generated with the different sizes available, there are not few who have bought a one meter cable by mistake, for example Lightning, and have ended up having to buy a longer one. So, we take the opportunity to warn you, perhaps with the purchase of your Apple Watch you should purchase a longer cable.

This will depend on the needs of each one. Another point, the Apple Watch Series 2 will have a USB charger in the box, like the iPhone presumably 5W, however Apple Watch Series 1 will not have this network adapter USB. A measure that we honestly cannot justify, these types of accessories are minutiae in Apple's budgets, and generate a perhaps illogical controversy. Apple Watch Series 2 users have the right to have a charger and others do not, at least that is what Apple wants to tell us, that by paying € 100 less, we lose accessories that are presumably just as necessary on both devices.

The cable thing, although it does not seem very logical to me, has not attracted much attention either, but I was surprised by the absence of the usb charger in the Watch Series 1. I find it incredible that Apple treats its customers this way ...

I honestly don't understand the maneuver. Discriminate in that way with your customers? Okay, I understand that if you buy an editon, you have a "special" treatment but this ?!
It is unfortunate. I do not get it.

I think that around here the example of Nintendo's New 3DS, which is sold without a charger, has already been set. I understand that the Series 1 is more aimed at those who now have a "Series 0" and, therefore, already have a charger from their previous model, thus allowing them to reduce costs (which does not mean that this reduction is reflected in the price they pay. the user, anyway). I understand that some are upset, because if you buy a Series 1 and do not have a spare charger, you will have to use your iPhone charger or buy a USB charger.

The issue of the cable ... Well, I have a lot of cable left over from my current watch charger, I do not see badly that they now include a shorter cable but half a meter seems excessively little to me (It is still a good size for me, but there are people who may need a little more cable).

Sorry, in the second paragraph I wanted to say one meter. It's hard to stay awake on a Monday!
