Every time a new operating system is released, especially if this system is from Apple, older devices are left without being able to use any function. This is something that we experience more on the iPhone, Apple's flagship product since 2007, but that we also see on the rest of its hardware. The original Apple Watch was introduced in 2014, went on sale in 2015, and has already discovered something that can do the Apple Watch Series 2 that the newly christened Series 1 cannot do.
El discovery It has been done by the Apple Insider medium, where they also mention that the function would not be available in the Original Apple Watch due to limited hardware, like a less bright screen that would not allow to distinguish the time so soon. We could also think that the S2 offers possibilities like those offered by the M9 co-processor, but this is ruled out when we remember that we can turn on the screen just by lifting the wrist.
Check the time without disturbing anyone on your Apple Watch Series 2
The idea of this new function is clearly do not disturb anyone while we look at the time. For example, we can check the time by turning the Digital Crown in a cinema and the brightness of the Apple Watch Series 2 will not distract anyone. Another valid example can be when we are in a meeting: looking at the time can be an unfortunate gesture, but we can always turn the Digital Crown a little and nobody notices that we are doing it.
This novelty works as follows:
- The brightness of the screen will go up when we turn the Digital Crown upwards and will go down when we turn in the opposite direction.
- The screen will turn off in the same way that it turns off when we look at the time by raising our wrist, as long as we have not lowered the brightness to the maximum.
- If we lift the wrist again, the brightness will be displayed at its normal level.
- If we turn the Digital Crown to a maximum point, we will turn on the Apple Watch Series 2 as if we had touched the screen or pressed a button.
The function, activated by default, can be deactivated from the general settings of the Apple Watch, although I think most of us will leave it activated, right?
