The information comes from an employee training document that has been leaked and suggests that the Sport and Watch models will be able to make use of this possibility. The Edition model does not enter this promotion.
In addition to the 14 day rule, the new strap must be from the same collection than the Apple Watch model we own. Logically, we will not be able to change a Sport strap for the stainless steel model's link strap. Apple also insists that the watch must have been purchased from them directly, either on its website, in a physical store or from the Apple Store application.
The change will not be as simple as going to a store and changing the strap. An Apple representative will confirm if the Apple Watch in question has been purchased in the last 14 days and will then contact the call center of the online store to initiate the change. Once this is done, customer support will order a new strap and it will be shipped to the customer. The customer will also provide information on how to return the old strap.
All the Apple Watch straps aren't exactly cheap, the most affordable being that of Sport model priced at € 49. In part, it is logical that those of Cupertino make sure that we will be happy with the image that we put on our wrist. One less worry.
