Apple will help financially in recovery efforts after Hurricane Ida

Hurricane Ida

As usual, every time a natural disaster strikes, the head of Apple, Tim Cook, quickly announces that he will help financially in the work of help and recovery, regardless of whether they occur inside or outside the United States. With Hurricane Ida passing through Louisiana, Apple couldn't make an exception.

Tim Cook has announced through his Twitter account that he will make a donation to assist in relief and recovery efforts on the ground. More than a million people are without electricity after the passage of Hurricane Ida, a hurricane that has caused serious damage to the electrical system in the area and the data is still being evaluated.

In the tweet that Tim Cook has published, we can read:

Our thoughts go out to all who are in the path of Hurricane Ida, especially those sheltering in Louisiana, and we are grateful for the first responders who are helping keep communities safe. Apple will donate to relief and recovery efforts on the ground.

Ida arrived in Louisiana this past Sunday, after Hurricane Katrina 16 years ago, which left almost 2.000 deaths and damages of 125.000 million dollars. Ida hit harder than Katrina with 240 mph winds when it made landfall.

In a few months, the series will premiere on Apple TV + Five Days At Memorial, a mini series that rebuild the 5 days after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, in a hospital, where doctors and nurses face tough decisions.

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), does not reveal how much is the amount that usually contributes to help in natural disasters. Previously and more recently, Tim Cook has been involved with the Haiti earthquake in early August and the flooding they suffered in Germany and Belgium.
