The last Apple event that I can attend to the public took place almost two years ago, in September 2019. The global situation due to COVID-19 has meant that all announcements and presentations of the company have been, since then, exclusively online, with very well crafted videos and a very high pace that many prefer to the classic (and sometimes excessively slow) face-to-face events. Well according to Mark Gurman Apple's plans are to return to this type of event in the near future, in a few months, announcing what could be its first great novelty in 6 years: Apple Glass.
These first Apple glasses will not be the final product that the company plans to launch to the general public, but a device that will mix Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality, but does not want it to be presented in such a "cold" way as an online event . Apple wants there to be the public, that its employees, developers and the press can be present. It will be a device from which great sales are not expected, only about 180.000 units a year, and it will include 8K screens, it will be able to follow the movement of the eyes and even the hands.
These first glasses could be presented this year, when the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic improves thanks to the vaccination that is already beginning in much of the world. However, its launch will not happen until next year. The definitive Apple Glass, which will be intended for all users and of which millions of units sold per year are expected, will still be far from its launch, according to Gurman, it will still take several years.
