Apple works hard to give Siri a more natural language

Siri iOS 10

Siri is still a virtual assistant with a quite "robotic" language, despite the fact that in iOS 10 there were slight improvements that made us think that Apple were working hard on it, the reality is that it still does not give much "the hit" about. On the other hand, Google with its Google Assistant has achieved quite high levels of naturalness before which Apple will have difficulties to reach. According to the latest information, Apple is secretly working in an office in Cambridge (UK) to get Siri to handle a much more natural language than you currently own.

The culprits of the leak have been, as almost always, the boys of Business Insider, who have become aware of the existence of a secret office in Cambridge. This secret office has less than thirty employees, most of them coming from the company VocalIQ, recently acquired by Apple (more specifically in 2015) for the not inconsiderable amount of 100 million dollars. This company that we mentioned was a startup dedicated to voice recognition systems.

It seems that Apple intends to include some of the technologies of VocalIQ on Siri, and for this he has decided that the company's employees continue to work together, which has given them such a good result. What we do not know is why they have located a secret office, instead of installing the new employees in any of the existing premises. However, they may be awaiting relocation to the new facility that Apple is refurbishing in London, one of the company's future nerve centers.

This battle between Amazon, Google and Apple for voice recognition and virtual assistants seems to have only just begun. Unfortunately, it is not a technology that users take too much advantage of on a regular basis.
