Auto3G: disable 3G automatically while your iPhone is locked (Cydia)

When I saw this application in Cydia I couldn't believe it, what a great idea! What it does Auto3G es disable 3G (leaving the GPRS network) while your iPhone is locked and activate it when it is unlocked, thus achieving substantial battery savings.

Logically it is not compatible with iPhone 2G.

You can download it by 5,99$ en Cydia.

You need to have done the jailbreak.

Buff 5 bucks… .. we will have to look for it so that it comes out cheaper… but honestly… a COJONUDA app

Too expensive for what it offers. I see it useful, but with SBSettings it is not very burdensome to activate and deactivate 3G manually.

Found on the net ... and installed and tested ... it's pretty good ..

you save… .5 sg 😀 hahaha, what would it take to activate or deactivate it with SBSettings…

It is a very interesting application, but quite expensive.

Be careful, when using the Edge network, the iPhone is more likely to miss calls. Therefore, if they have the mail in push or something like that, it is clearly not convenient since they will lose many more calls like that.

The bad thing is that to call you would use the 3G network, and that is a bit garbage, which has worse audio quality (due to the standard that reserves more bandwidth for data) and on top of that it uses a lot more battery, and if not look at the times conversation in apple specs.

To play games, talk on the phone, listen to music, use the runkeeper, check my lists, take a picture, etc., I don't need 3G. The 3G network is only useful for browsing, so for me it is more useful to activate the 3G network manually, and I save a lot more battery. But the idea is good, especially for those who use their mobile to browse exclusively. That's what it's great for.

I always have 3G disabled and when I unlock the iPhone I activate it and in my life I have missed a call or I have stopped receiving emails.

I have it, I download it for free from a cydia repo and it works quite well and saves a lot of battery I recommend it since the 3G is activated instantly

It seems quite useful although with a very expensive price (and more having the sbsetting) and I say it seems because if you stop to think for a moment, if you usually have the 3G off (with all the battery saving that it supposes) and you only turn it on When you really need it, with this application this would not be the case since if you are going to send an SMS or call someone, it is silly to activate the 3G for it and then deactivate it again, and more if this operation is carried out many times at So let's see where the battery saving is, if every time we send an SMS or call someone or look at a contact, take and turn on only the 3G and then turn it off, and all this for nothing because we have not needed in none of these cases, not to say that he gives us a normal game for 10-15-30 minutes and has to activate the 3G for nothing ... Definitely with the price so expensive that it has for what it is, and with the drawbacks that it has and the expense instead of saving that it can cause us… .. it is a lot ho more efficient and effective to use sbsetting and activate or deactivate 3G when we really need it.

But after executing it, should the 3g icon turn off anyway when it is off? I say this because I turn off the screen and when I turn it on I still have the 3g icon, so I don't know if it works internally without touching the springboard icon at all.

You are absolutely right but as I have already told you through a cydia repo it cost me free then as I have already told you it is very useful

  12.   Sergi said

And you don't think you can use it and when you go to play a game you go to SBSettings and deactivate it?

it's very good but…. we forget those of us who use the 3g network while the iphone is blocked as for online music, radio etc…. It would be ideal to detect if any application is using it and in that case, deactivate it or not. Right now this application does not work for me since I listen to music online…. but really good idea.

    regards!

I understand that it can be useful, I am more to have it deactivated and activate it to navigate and others.
A general question, I have 4.0.1 and every time I activate or deactivate 3G, the coverage bars increase or decrease. How does that go, the bars are normal coverage when 3G is disabled and 3G coverage when disabled? I notice a difference of 3 bars between one and the other.

If you have an iPad with the mutlisim of movistar ovldaos .. not only do you lose calls, but also because of the multisim service, which calls you on the day of the call but no mobile phone rings, and the voicemail ends up.

I have tried it and although the idea is good, it needs to improve. The problem that I have noticed is that when you are in a place without 3g coverage and you unlock the iphone, it starts looking for 3g, and since there is none, it does not provide service.

Another thing that I don't like is that for this app you need to have an icon in springb. which is quite ugly and that when you open it only two options appear, I think it would be better within settings.
