Yesterday afternoon was busy for Apple. Throughout the afternoon he was releasing the new versions of iOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS after all the public betas released during all these last weeks. The truth is that few new features are in these new versions: iOS 10.3.2, macOS 10.12.5, tvOS 10.2.1, and watchOS 3.2.2. As almost always when Apple updates all its operating systems, so does iTunes, the Big Apple tool to manage our devices. iTunes updates and reaches the version 12.6.1, without any relevant change except bug improvements and adaptation to the new operating systems released yesterday afternoon.
iTunes 12.6.1, a small step before the big change
We do not stop repeating that the WWDC is right around the corner, but it is reality. Apple's global developer conference is one of the most important events where we see all advances at the software level of those of Cupertino. It is important because we will know in which direction iOS is going to move, but we will also know what role will iTunes have.
The new version of iTunes, the 12.6.1, It hardly brings any perceptible change, but it is a mere procedure before the launch of the rest of the updates that we have mentioned before. That does not mean that we recommend updating as soon as possible, since in each new version Apple fixes errors that it considers relevant for the proper functioning of the tool.
The truth is that we can only wait to see what Apple's movements will be with iTunes, an application that has improved considerably over the years, and that until a few years ago has had a fundamental weight in the management of devices. Now, with the launch of new services such as iCloud Photo Library or Apple Music, their use is more than limited.
