Battery test: iPhone 14 Pro Max vs Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

Batteries of the new iPhone 13

After having already carried out other tests between these two flagships, the speed tests and drop tests with the iPhone 14 Pro Max vs Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, PhoneBuff is back with a battery life test. The iPhone 14 Pro Max was able to maintain its crown of battery life, I'll tell you how it was in the test.

Being honest, and recapitulating from the previous tests, things have been close between two of the most powerful smartphones on the market. Apple and Samsung flagships had similar results in speed and drop tests. PhoneBuff. There was more or less a dead heat in the speed test and the S23 Ultra took slightly less damage when dropped compared to the iPhone 14 Pro Max. However, both completed all four rounds of knockdowns and remained functional for the most part.

Now PhoneBuff has subjected both phones to a rigorous autonomy test. While the S23 Ultra has an advantage with a 5.000 mAh battery of capacity compared to the 4.323 mAh of the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the latter has the advantage of the integration between software and hardware that characterizes Apple so much.

As for other specifications that may have an impact on autonomy, the iPhone 14 Pro Max has a 6,7 inch, while the S23 Ultra has a slightly larger 6,8-inch screen. Both have variable refresh rates from 1-120Hz, though the S23 Ultra has a slightly higher resolution of 1440 x 3088 compared to 1290 x 2796 on the 14 Pro Max.

In the end, and after writing, sliding on the screens, browsing the internet, using the GPS or watching videos on YouTube with similar levels of audio, the iPhone 14 Pro Max lasted 38 minutes longer than the S23 Ultra: the first worked a total of 27 hours and 44 minutes with 11 hours and 44 minutes of active time and the second died after 27 hours and 6 minutes. I leave the video below so you can consult it if you have additional curiosity.
