Again we talk about hiring of personnel relevant to Apple's present and future intentions. This time we talk about Bernadette Simpao, who previously worked as public relations in several cable television networks such as AMC and Viacom. Apple's intention with this hiring is to join forces in the public relations department to improve the content as well as to give a boost to Apple TV and its television shows, movies, applications, books, podcast and even the iTunes Store.
After the great renovation that the device has undergone, Apple wants to give this device a push to become popular quickly between users. But if the content it offers is not interesting there is no use promoting it, hence the hiring of Simpao.
Simpao's career started to take off when he joined the ranks of Viacom in which she held different positions in the 10 years she spent with the company, including that of senior director of communications in its international division. Within Viacom, he was in charge of guiding the advertising of its international channels such as MTV, Nickelodeon, BET and Comedy Central. Between 2007 and 2009 he held the position of communications and public relations manager at BET networks, as can be read on his LinkedIn profile. He is currently at AMC as corporate vice president of communications, as he will leave in the next few days.
