Bluetooth devices can receive notifications in iOS 7

iOS-7-Bluetooth

The arrival of iOS 7 has not only meant an aesthetic change, but it has also meant a change in Apple's philosophy, breaking barriers that until now seemed insurmountable. One of these barriers was the possibility of receive notifications via Bluetooth on "smart" devices, such as the Pebble device, one of the most famous smartwatches right now. Apple has made available to developers new APIs that allow the function of these devices to improve without the need for Jailbreak.

Because the Pebble could receive notifications, but thanks to its Pebble application for iOS, and only calls, messages and emails. It was not possible to receive notifications from other "non-Apple" applications, unless you used a Cydia application to correct this problem. As a Pebble owner, it was one of the reasons I was hesitant to upgrade to iOS 7 at first, as the functionality of this smartwatch would be greatly impaired without a jailbreak in sight. But the reality has been that notifications from applications such as WhatsApp, Facebook and many others arrive perfectly on my Pebble, as long as they have the notifications activated in the Settings and that they are visible on the lock screen. There is even the possibility that when you mark a notification on your smartwatch as view, it disappears from the notification center of your device.

In addition, there are also some iOS 7 multitasking changes that help make this happen, and is that iOS will allow developers to make that although their application is closed, various functions remain active, in the background, something for which Apple was very reluctant until now. In this way, without the Pebble application running, we can continue to receive notifications. At the moment, in my case at least, the notifications received do not always work, sometimes I have to restart the service, but it is to be expected that as soon as the developers update the applications and as the iOS beta polishes its bugs, this type services run smoothly and without the help of jailbreak. Tim Cook already said it, iOS would be opening little by little, and for now, the changes are promising.

How weird .. only the iOS works for me and yes, I have the notification activated in each application and that they are displayed on the screen and such ... (the truth is that it was the first thing I tried when installing iOS7
