Stringer has been part of Jony Ive's design team and was an important part of iPhone design In addition to being a fundamental part in the legal battle that faced Samsung and Apple in 2012. Having worked together with Jony Ive during these last years, Strainger had a hand in the design of the iPhone and Mac of the last 20 years.
Jony Ive's work team is governed by extreme secrecy, so for now the reason why the Stringer left the company is not known. His departure comes two years after Ive took over as Director of Design, stepping back from the day-to-day management of the firm's design team, a task that passed to Richard Howarth.
Stringer is the second designer to leave the company in recent times, after Daniel Coster left to join GoPro 20 years after joining the company.
