Chrome for iOS adds a feature to save articles and read them offline

Currently and after the disappearance of Readability more than a year ago, we only have Instapaper and Pocket if we want to save articles to read quietly and without the need for an internet connection. If throughout the day we can only take a look at your Twitter account or visit your favorite blogs to see if there is something interesting, but you cannot dedicate the time necessary to read the articles that you like the most, these types of applications are ideal, since they allow us to store and classify them in different categories created by us. After the last update of Chrome, the browser of Google joins the select group of applications that allow us to save articles to read later, applications named Read it Later.

It seems that the guys at Google want to take advantage of the latest movements in both services. Mozilla announced the purchase of Pocket a few weeks ago, while Instapaper was acquired by Picterest, making the application completely free without requiring a subscription as so far to enjoy all its functions. The latest Chrome update adds a new function within the share menu called Read later, a function that will create a reading list with all the articles we send from any browser, not just from Chrome.

Once we have sent the articles that we want to view offline and when we want, we can see the number of stored articles pending reading, we must access through the upper right button that access the application settings. When clicking on Reading List, the titles of all the articles that we have stored so far will be displayed. To read them, we just have to click on one of them, without the need for an internet connection.

The service works quite well, but for the methodical ones of the order, surely the possibility of adding a label to classify the content would be perfect, but it is clear that Google's idea is not to compete with Instagram or Pocket, but rather its rival is Safari, who has also offered us this function for several years.
