D-Link bets on Mesh WiFi and smart plugs at CES 2018

D-Link has taken advantage of CES 2018 to present the new products and the bet this year is clear: routers with the new WiFi AX technology, WiFi Mesh networks to have good coverage throughout your home and smart plugs, both individual and strip. All this together with a renewed Mydlink application integrated with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and IFTTT to manage your smart devices. A good selection of products that are focused on something already unstoppable: the automation of our home.

WiFi AX and WiFi Mesh

WiFi AX technology is the successor to WiFi AC. With speeds of up to 11.000 Mbps This new WiFi will begin to reach the most advanced routers in the coming months, and D-Link has already presented its first model with this new technology. But they have also shown their new models to solve the problems of many homes through the famous Mesh technology, with which, through access points distributed throughout your home, you create a unique WiFi network that does not lose quality wherever you are.

The new D-Link COVR-2202 (with two AC 2200 TriBanda MU-MIMO WiFi Access Points) and COVR-C1203 (with three AC 1200 MU-MIMO WiFi Access Points) have been presented. Both models integrate the advanced Qualcomm® Mesh Networking platform and work in conjunction with any router or Internet connection, creating a solid unified wireless network using WiFi Mesh. In addition, each access point also has two Gigabit LAN ports for connecting wired devices.

Smart plugs

In addition to wireless technology for home networks, D-Link has introduced us to its smart plugs. These new devices will connect via WiFi to our network and thanks to the renewed mydlink application we will be able to control them wherever we are, as long as we have an internet connection. Compatible with iOS and Android we can interact with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant as well as IFTTT and create automations or have them respond to our voice instructions. These are the DSP-W115 smart plug and the DSP-W245 smart plug strip. The mydlink app will be updated in late January with a fresh design and compatibility with new devices as well as mydlink cameras.
