Decathlon offers an interesting but improvable app

Sports

I have always believed that all major retail chains should have applications that match their service. In full 2016 there are still many that do not comply, while others like Zara for example have invested significant amounts of money with fantastic results in terms of conversion into sales. Decathlon also offers an official app, and it's time to check it out.

Always with you

In the digital age it makes less and less sense to carry physical cards. Apple is trying it with Apple Pay and Decathlon also encourages us to leave the membership card at home, since in the mobile application We can show the card when paying at the cash desk without having to carry it in our wallet, which obviously gives us an added convenience that is appreciated.

That will probably be the most frequent use we make of the application, but the reality is that it has much more to offer. And since we are inside the store, probably the most useful function in it is the product scanner, with which we can obtain the details of any item by simply scanning its barcode through the camera of our iPhone.

More things

If we have to tickle the application, we must talk about the design. Although at first it is a well-resolved app, when we look at the small details things get worse. Without being an ugly app, the catalog part turns out can be improved in distribution and choice of colors, although undoubtedly the least successful are the buttons chosen for navigation between menus in the upper bar, where those that iOS brings by default would have been much more successful. Smoother transitions between the screens are also missing, making navigation between them a bit rough even if we use an iPhone 6s.

Speaking of to buy online, no fault about it. We simply have to navigate through the different categories of the application (or search for the desired product) and after adding it to the basket we can make the payment conveniently without touching the computer.

In short, we are facing an application that it is essential for all of us who are used to buying in this store, but which still has a good room for improvement in the future, so we hope that in future updates they will give us positive surprises.

This more than in the News section should be in the Advertising or Spam section. I'm sorry but it doesn't contribute anything.
