Dexcom launches a sensor to read glucose levels from the Apple Watch

DexCom Apple Watch

If you are diabetic, you will soon be able to use Apple Watch to measure your blood sugar levels. Although this feature does not come standard on the apple watch, the DexCom company is developing an application for the Apple Watch that shows us the glucose values.

To perform the readings, DexCom has a series of tiny sensors that are inserted under the surface of our skin and they take blood samples every five minutes. With the application that is being designed for the Apple Watch, the watch will show us the data collected and will draw a graph with its evolution over time.

Although not yet commercially available, the Apple Watch has already been labeled by the FDA as a device for general well-being and not as a medical device. This is because thanks to the clock, we can keep track of our weight, physical condition and other parameters related to our health.

This last paragraph is important for us to understand that developers interested in launching sports or health-related applications, they will not need an FDA approval.

Based on all of the above, people affected by Diabetes will appreciate this type of progress that contributes to Improve Life Quality of those who suffer from the disease.

The Apple Watch application that displays the information collected by DexCom's sensors is expected to be available.available in april, the month in which the watch will begin to be marketed.

This type of watch was already launched years ago without success, I hope this one does because I suppose it will be very expensive.
