Disney acquires a former iTunes manager for its future streaming platform

2018 will be the year in which we see an endless number of streaming video services to start competing with the big boys. We have already spoken on several occasions about Apple's plans to launch its own streaming video service, a service that is currently integrated into Apple Music itself and that remains to be seen if they decide to separate by creating an “Apple Video”.

But there is another company that is aiming higher and higher in this video, and obviously they are doing it because of the experience they have ... Disney, that company that is doing practically everything related to the audiovisual world (they have bought companies like FOX and they have taken over the StarWars franchise), continues to develop its own streaming video service. And now they just sign a former iTunes manager for the final development of the service ... After the jump we give you all the details.

The person in question is kevin swint (who already tried to help Samsung with its video and music streaming service without much success), which would have been hired by BAMTech, a Disney subsidiary for the creation of this supposed streaming video service, in which will occupy the vice presidency and will be the General Manager of the new service. A service that will offer movies from the Disney factory (which as we have said for a while now is practically everything), and that will probably be Netflix's maximum competitor.

Launch plans are set for 2019, and will be preceded by a streaming video platform from ESPN (A leading sports group also owned by Disney). We will see where all this is, without a doubt it will be exciting to see the attempts of all the companies to be the leader, and in the end we will be the ones who decide for one or the other.
