There is nothing more classic for a watch than a good leather strap. Valid for any occasion or clothing, they have traditionally been the most demanded piece by those who enjoy a good watch., and the Apple Watch falls into this category.
With two different models, one more classic and the other more sporty, and top-quality materials and finishes, we have been able to test two straps from the Nomad collection for the Apple Watch, and we show you the images and our opinion.
Various models and finishes
Nomad offers us several two models, Modern Strap with a flatter, modern and sporty look, and Traditional Strap, with the classic seams on the sides. Both models are available in brown and black (Modern Strap also in dark gray) and with the metallic pieces in black or silver, to be perfect in the different Apple Watch models. Of course all straps are available in 42 / 44mm and 38 / 40mm sizes.
Quality materials
The materials used in the manufacture of the straps are of course top quality, such as the skin worked by Horween, a company with more than 100 years of experience in the sector. On the inside of the straps you will see the seal that certifies the origin of the leather.
The appearance of the straps and the sensations when touching them or putting them around our wrist cannot be better. They are very comfortable, although as with this material at first we will find them somewhat rigid, but far from uncomfortable. This is something that gets better over time, as with good shoes. Over time it will also happen that the leather of these straps will take on "personality", and those scratches caused by daily use, shine and color changes that only top quality leather will make the strap look better. It is the big difference with cheap leather straps.
But it is not only the leather that forms these Nomad straps, also the metal parts contribute to their good final grade. Where other brands turn to cheap products that are poorly suited to the Apple Watch or that do not last more than a couple of months of use, Nomad has also wanted to leave its seal of quality, and both the hooks with the watch and the buckle of the straps are made of quality steel, in black or silver depending on the model that you have chosen.
They are large metal pieces, no pieces that go unnoticed almost hidden. Nomad wanted them to also be the protagonists, especially in the traditional model, with the buckle larger than that of the modern model. In this buckle we will find the only exterior mark that we can see on the strap, with Nomad's lyrics engraved but almost priceless.
The hooks for the Apple Watch slide perfectly through the slots of the Apple watch, nothing to force them to enter, and they also fit as if they were Apple's own straps, remaining firm and secure. As with the buckles, Nomad has wanted these hooks to show, and make the watch body look older. Its finish is matte black, which contrasts with my shiny black steel Apple Watch, but the sides of these hooks do have gloss. I love the end result.

Few accessories can improve one of Apple's roundest products, the Apple Watch, and Nomad with its leather straps manages to be on this select list. Any of its models and finishes is really spectacular on the Apple watch, and they will improve with the passage of time.
