Epic is not at all satisfied with the ruling issued in one of its multiple lawsuits against Apple for the "Fortnite case" and just confirmed what we all expected: appeal the sentence.
Far from how many have tried to focus the sentence of the case "EPIC vs Apple" speaking of blow to the Cupertino company, the reality is that it is simply a small tweak if we take into account everything that EPIC was looking for. Apple has won in all but one part of the trial (9 out of 10). According to the judge and her sentence, Apple is not a monopoly, it does not force it to reinstate Fortnite in its App Store, it does not even force Apple to restore the EPIC developer account, it does not force it to reduce the commission it charges in its App Store., and Apple won't have to support other app stores on its system. All Apple will have to do is allow developers to link to other payment systems outside of the App Store. This measure is not to Apple's taste, but it is the minimum expected damage and according to many developers, a big step for them.
EPIC is not happy with this decision of the judge, as Tim Sweeney shows on his Twitter account. In fact, the company has already announced its appeal to the sentence. It is clear that EPIC is not enough that many developers are going to benefit from the ruling, something that has shown that she cares very little, and that the only thing she wants in all this war was to get the most benefit for herself, as is logical in any company. There are no Robin Hoods here who want to steal from the rich to give to the poor, only rich who want to get richer.
