Face ID works even if you wear sunglasses

Apple's new Face ID facial recognition feature fWill match most sunglasses modelsaccording to Craig Federighi, Apple's chief software engineer.

«Most models of sunglasses allow enough IR light than Face ID I can see your eyes, even when the glasses can be almost opaque ”, Federighi communicated in an email to the developer and reader of MacRumors Keith Krimbel, who emailed the Apple executive a list of questions about it.

Although Face ID has been said to work with hats, scarves, beards, glasses, makeup, and other items that could hide the face, sunglasses were not specifically mentioned. Federighi's response clarifies one of the last unknowns most important things about Face ID.

Krimbel also asked for details on what would prevent a thief from grabbing an iPhone X, pointing it at your face and running off. In response, Federighi said there are two important nuances. If you don't stare at the phone, it won't unlock. Also, pressing the buttons on both sides of the phone will temporarily disable Face ID.

In addition to answering these questions, Federighi also commented on the popular bug that Face ID gave on the stage of the presentation trying to recognize his face. According to Apple, the software failed because someone else had picked up the phone before Federighi's demo. He says that it really is not a problem that he would have faced before.

The Face ID facial recognition function of the new iPhone X is designed to replace the traditional Touch ID as the new instant biometric authentication system. While it is limited to the iPhone X model for now, Apple has said it's the future of how we are going to unlock our smartphones, so it will be incorporated into the next devices.

For me, all this security through these types of authentication (previously the fingerprint and now the face). They say they keep total confidentiality with some data that is very sensitive, like this ...

Actually, I don't know to what extent our privacy is guarded. It turns out that they asked us for the print before. Now they are going to ask us for our faces. And I really start to think that all this is compiled, for tomorrow who knows what ...

Everybody wants or has an iPhone (not to mention the vast majority of the young public here in Uruguay carry one).

I am delighted with my iPhoneX.
Although I confirm that with RayBan glasses it does not work. And it is something that makes me very angry because it is a nuisance when you are driving.
For that they leave the touch id option ...
