Last June, Facebook announced at its developer conference the integration of the Swedish music streaming service Spotify, so that our friends or family they can create a joint playlist to listen to, for example, while using the application.
Facebook has just taken the new step in the agreement that both companies have reached. As reported by The Verge, Facebook Messenger users they will have at their disposal the virtual assistant M of Facebook, who will be in charge of showing song suggestions according to the text shown in the application, that is, according to what we are writing with our friends or family.
This means that when you see a specific word or phrase that may be related to a song, the Facebook assistant will jump and show us a song according to our conversation. But in addition, we can also interact directly with her by writing "Play some music", a command that will display a list of songs that match the topic we are dealing with in the conversation, ideal for when we are talking about a specific artist, a music group or a special song.
Everything seems to indicate and as we could see at the developer conference held by Facebook last June, that the collaboration between both companies will continue to offer interesting results, especially within the Messenger messaging application. It will be interesting to see if other streaming music platforms, such as Apple Music without going any further, integrate these same functions in a short time, as long as the agreement reached by Mark Zuckerberg and Spotify is not exclusive that limits this functionality only to the Swedish firm.
