Yesterday we wrote an article reporting that Apple has used two vendors to manufacture the A9 processor (and M9 co-processor). So far everything normal. The problem comes when we learn that, depending on who made the SoC of the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus, the device will have a processor of one size or another. The providers have been the same as until now, but the processor A9 should be 14nm and that's what seems which Samsung has succeeded and where TSMC has failedThe Chinese version of the iPhone 6s processor being 16nm and about 10% larger than the Korean version.
If all this is confirmed, we can only think that Apple is not doing things the way it should. You may not notice the difference (the benchmarks are almost traced), but any user who pays X money for a device wants him to have all the best (regardless of which of the two is) and the last thing he wants is to find out that another who has paid the same has the same device with a Better component for the same price. That is, in a word, unfair and it is what Apple should have avoided.
If you have bought an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus and want know what processor you useYou just have to go to the web page that I will add at the end of this article and do what it tells you. Keep in mind that you will have to download and install a profile and that you and only you will be responsible for what may happen to your device if you use it. Nothing has to happen, but it is better to notify and make things clear.
According to this website, 40% of all devices use the A9 processor manufactured by Samsung, while the remaining 60% use a processor manufactured by TSMC. By models, 54% of the Plus model uses the Samsung processor, while 79% of the iPhone 6s use a TSMC processor. I think this topic is going to give a lot to talk about.
Is it safe to install this profile?
I think the application is not safe because I have installed it and it has restarted my iphone 6s 3 times
Fuck! I will have to cross my fingers, because of course I want the Samsung chip.
If the two create the same chip without differences, nothing happens, it does not matter the provider, but if one has launched one with a new technology that may not be noticed in performance but possibly in energy saving and heat dissipation.
I of course do not want to buy a device that can be a tombola.
I have to go to an apple store to buy one and return the units until I have one with the components that I think are correct for the price I am paying?!.
which of the 2 is better? the samsung or the other one? I am waiting for it to arrive in Spain .. but if it is going to be a lottery, the same I hope some month, so that they get rid of those who are and that the good one comes
by the way, is it true that this iphone 6s gets very hot?
Hello, Juan Manuel. I can't give you a 100% sure answer, but the theory says that Samsung's is more efficient. That would translate into lower energy consumption. The benchmarks are practically the same, but the 14nm process is smaller and consumes less. TSMC's is 16nm. Everything in theory.
A greeting.
They just brought me the 6GB gold 64S Plus from France and it goes like a shot, it doesn't get hot or anything. The only thing I have noticed is that it consumes a little more than the 6 Plus but it may be normal because I have not yet done a full charge cycle, in theory it is usually at 100% once I have done at least three full charge cycles. For the rest, great although I find that the 3D Touch should still be more sensitive, I have it the most sensitive and I still do not get used to multitasking. But hey, I've only been using it for a few hours ... so far I'm very happy. And yes, in theory the samsun one is more efficient because it is manufactured in 14nm, it does not have to be faster but it does have to be more efficient in battery consumption. I don't dare to install that profile ... I hope that in the future there will be another system to check it!
