There is (at least) one piece of information that Apple omits every time it presents a device: how much RAM does it have? Not to vary, at the time the apple company presented the iPhone SE He talked about his A9 processor and M9 co-processor that allows him to use the "Hey Siri!" at all times, they talked about the 12Mpx camera and 4K recording, they talked about Apple Pay, but they did not say how much RAM it has. Now, thanks to the first benchmarks, we already know.
The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus were the first smartphones on the apple (in tablets they are already used by the iPad Air 2 since 2014) to include 2GB of RAM. We can't say that the iPhone 6 and earlier were wrong with its 1GB of RAM, but it must be recognized that another gig is a breath of fresh air on iOS. As we have mentioned in other articles, it seems that Apple learned the lesson of the iPhone 5c and they have decided to make the iPhone SE a gentleman phone, so they have assembled the same 2GB of RAM that their older brothers have.
The iPhone SE has 2GB of RAM, but some shortcomings
But not all are good news. There are some points that some users will not like at all, such as the following:
- 1.2Mpx FaceTime camera with ƒ / 2,4 aperture. It's not the end of the world, but we hadn't figured out which front camera those specs equate to. It is not the same as the iPhone 5s, but the camera that was mounted on the iPhone 5 in September 2012.
- First generation Touch ID. This we did know. That on the Apple website dedicated to the iPhone SE they did not mention anything of the second generation could only mean that it was not the same Touch ID that the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus use. The second generation is faster as well as more secure in detecting more details in the texture of our fingertips.
- It has no barometer. The barometer can come in handy to measure our sports activity, but it will not be possible to make these measurements with the iPhone SE.
What perhaps makes up for all its shortcomings is that it is priced quite competitively. Knowing everything we know, are you interested in the iPhone SE or do you prefer to buy an iPhone 6s?
Without hesitation I will change my iPhone 6 for a 5GB 64se.
For big screen I have the iPad
I would not change my iPhone 6s Plus for the SE, but if it is a good gift for my wife or one of my children, it has a good price and good specifications, only the face time falls short.
I find it embarrassing apple, you put a gb of Ram in a 6 plus and two in a 5se?
They are laughing in our face .. Seriously! They are doing their best to make you change your iPhone every year, I change iPhone in one or two years .. But why I love technology, not why I have to endure LAGS since iOS 9 came out and because of its gb of Ram makes it not work as it should.
I have loved iOS 9.3, both the betas and the official one for now, but I have an iPad Pro and I don't see it as smooth as my 6 plus, I don't know if anyone has noticed.
