Force restart iPhone / iPod (force restore)

After a while of absence, here I am greeting everyone again ...

Now we will dedicate ourselves to something that may be known to many who have been using the device for a long time but that gave many of us problems and that new users may not know that it is very useful when, for example, we are running an app and suddenly we iPhone hangs, or when we want to restore and iTunes does not allow it, among other situations:

  1. On our PC or Mac we run itunes
  2. We connect the device (iPhone / iPod Touch), it does not matter that at this moment iTunes does not recognize the device.
  3. We press the two buttons (power and menu) and keep them pressed for about 20 seconds
  4. When the iPhone is turned off and the apple comes out, we release the lit button and continue pressing the menu button.
  5. After another 10 seconds iTunes will recognize us the iPhone and tell us if we want to restore to which we will accept and we will be ready to pass the ziphone.

Do not despair that if you do not go to the first one it will work for you after a few tries.

I did that, but I had a problem because I was testing beta 2.0 and when I downgraded I don't know what happens that it doesn't recognize that it is a phone, let's go, it has been left as a touch, you even go to phone options and it doesn't appear in the menu. I put the 1.1.3, 1.1.4 with ziphone / ilberty and nothing ..

Did that happen to anyone else?

Hello, thank you very much for your information, I did it, but now I get a sign that says that the wait time for download is over, how can I do so that this time is not cut, since it is lowering 161 mg and the time says which is too short?
iTunes already recognizes it, but when you download the restoration program it says that the time has expired.
If you could help me I would appreciate it.

    Thank you very muchssssssssssssssssss
I tried several times and as you say it was restored,
Forgive my ignorance, but now if you can please instruct me how to release this touch, since when I did it first it blocked me, I got a black screen and a z in the middle, the ziphone program was skidding and the touch was then left with letters balncas until you helped me.
    I have the version 1.1.5 (4B1)
    itunes 7.7.0.43
If you could help me I would appreciate it, and if you explain to me what would happen if I download the 2.0 software
    graciasssssssssssss
    I await your reply

Hello everyone! You have an iPhone 1.1.4 I have not yet run it to 2.0 I have a small problem for a week and that is that when you turn it off completely after 3 minutes it turns on by itself. If I turn it off again, the time to turn it on again is 5 and after that it turns on and the equipment stays in standby with the light on at a quarter intensity. I have to turn it off completely again so that when I touch the On / Off button the light turns off. What could be the cause of this problem? Thank you for what you can do.

Hello, I had my iPhone in 2.x and I wanted to downgrade it to 1.4 with ZipPhone 3.0 but once it finishes doing the process it stays in DFU mode (showing the iTunes icon and the iPhone connector) or it enters mode just emergency calls, any ideas? I upgraded to 2.0 with WinPwn 2.0.0.4, and I tried to downgrade to 1.4 with this tool as well or leave it in 2.0 if it were the case but working but not .. the most that has come to me is to ask for the # of the sim and receive and make calls but it does not load the rest of the interface is as when it is only for emergencies, any ideas?

On my iphone I can't see half of the screen and I have been told that it can be fixed with a recovery mode and then update it.
Does anyone know how to do that and if it is true that this can be fixed?
    Thank you
    All the best

Karina, I think you need to comment:

    1) What version of iPhone do you have 2G, 3G, 3Gs
    2) What version of OS did you update it to
