The place chosen by Foxconn to open its next plant in which it will exclusively manufacture Apple devices will be Maharashtra, a state that is located in the central west of the republic of India. According to The Economic Times, the plant will cost Foxconn the amount of 10.000 billion dollars, which means that they are convinced that they will remain "Apple's factory" for many years to come.

Right now, Foxconn would be looking for a 1.200-acre piece of land (which according to Siri is more than 4.85 million square meters) in the state and would have already found two or three possible zones. The agreement would be almost signed, but negotiations are still under way with the Indian Government. According to sources, the construction of the first plant will take 18 months from the signing of the agreement.
Foxconn plans to manufacture 10 to 12 facilities in India, including factories and data centers. This is not the first time that the Taiwanese manufacturer has considered working in India, since it already closed a plant there when Nokia had problems and had to leave the country in 2014. What is curious, and probably not a coincidence, is that this news comes just at the moment when Apple is trying to have more relevance in India, a country that may be important to the revenue of the Cupertino company in the not too distant future.
