Galaxy S5 vs iPhone 5s we compare the cameras side by side

The comparisons between the Galaxy S5 and the iPhone 5s are incessant. This is because both are part of the range of best-selling terminals on the market and therefore are natural rivals. We have seen comparisons of specifications, operation, fingerprint sensor and today we will see a slightly more visual comparison that allows us to see the quality of video and photographs of both terminals side by side.

The video in question was developed by a user named Ken Dai and it is very well done. In it we see both photographs and videos of both terminals. We must bear in mind when we see the video that both smartphones have very different cameras. On the one hand the iPhone 5s implements an 8 megapixel sensor capable of recording video in Full HD while the Galaxy S5 integrates a 16 megapixel sensor capable of recording video in 4k.

Beyond the megapixels that matter little when it comes to obtaining a good photograph (starting from a clear minimum), it is interesting to see the performance of both sensors in similar situations. And it is that in the video we observe that while on the Galaxy S5 the colors look more vivid and sometimes too saturated, on the iPhone 5s the colors are more restrained and a bit more "washed out" in comparison.

Personally, I must admit that when it comes to sharpness, I appreciate the videos captured by the Samsung Galaxy S5 more, I also like saturated colors more, so I am naturally more partial to the camera of the Samsung terminal. However, it is interesting to see both cameras side by side to help the most indecisive to see which is the camera that will best suit what they are looking for. What do you think? What camera do they keep?

what is very well appreciated is the stabilization that the iphone has when recording video.

I thought that the S5 had a better camera, but it seems to me that it saturates the colors creating an unreal image and the white colors look very bright, the photos of the iPhone 5s seemed much more stable and the image better.
To think that the iphone 5s is much older than the s5 and beats it in the fingerprint sensor, camera, speed, design. What will Samsung do when Apple launches the iPhone 6? are you going to keep making fun because it doesn't have multitasking

I think the same as Mauro. Personally, both are very good, but Samsung marks the colors a lot, saturates them, in addition to defining the contours of the objects a lot, adding that the whites are bright and thus creates an image not very close to reality. On the other hand iPhone the contours are soft, with real colors, making a more real photo

In fact, we should not confuse the galaxy s5, it is better to notice more details down to the minimum while the iphone cares more your camera, the more saturated colors is due to the types of screens of each one that is why they are more saturated but if we pass them to a computer it is logical that 16 megapixels will look much better therefore the galaxy s5 is better to whoever it is the truth

And here's a lesson in wisdom and spelling. Thanks Oturan. We love you (but far, eh!)

If I tell you the truth, the S5 camera brings out the most artificial colors and when zooming in, the definition loses a lot compared to the 5s.
When making the videos, I could see auto focus so that it did not focus on the back if that was on the iphone. Hahahaha

  6.   Erwaka said

The definition that the S5 brings out is much higher than the 5s. The definition when zooming is also higher, and if you know how to adjust the balances correctly it would improve. You just have to see the definition of one and the other in the starting photo of the video, the screws near the wall to the right in the 5s are imperceptible, on the other hand in the S5 they are sharp. Although we are not going to scratch ourselves by a comparison, we already know what happens in many of them.

Whoever does not see the S5 better camera is that he is blind.
look at the light that captures natural light !! it is brutal next to the iphone and the sharpness
The worst thing about the iPhone is that it has a sony sensor without more and the S5 has the new IsoCell manufactured by Samsung for a specific camera which will be updated often incorporating improvements over another that does not incorporate said technology.
I hope the iPhone 6 camera is the host because if not ...
Apparently Sony is finishing a development of the new high-end sensor and iPhone will have very good competition regarding photo and video

    I stayed with the Samsung.
The truth is this is an unfair comparison.
An iPhone 5 would never have a chance.
Let's wait to see the 6 so maybe things will level off more.
(what I don't think but remains to be seen)

The iPhone is better in everything it is from last year and even so it is better than the s5 as Mauro says very much in agreement with him but there are always people who like plastic. Cheap as they said in the HTC precentacion. !!

Go all to your mother's house ... android is a free software ... you can modify it and it has its advantages ... but don't forget that it has too many disadvantages. And for the second… the only thing we use cell phone cameras for is to upload photos to instagram… they won't be prettier because it's 6000 megapixels! Let's face it, if you want to be a good photographer, buy a reflex camera, they dedicate 100 percent to that ... do you want good videos? GoPro works ... the phone is just another invention to "satisfy" needs ... let's face it, we use it to call ... and for them the one that lasts the best is the nokia one thousand one hundred ... that if it is an invention of the devil. It even has a flash without a camera. Haha in summary, I think that the stability and elegance that a device like Apple gives us can never be surpassed ... because they are dedicated to surpassing themselves ... not to surpassing others (samsung)

It does not matter if you are an apple fanboy I have had both terminals and they are both really good but in truth I tell you the galaxy is better at the time of freedom in software but I respect your decision and if you like iPhone more then that's good just don't want to tease me for my spelling

    Totally agree with Mauro,
The iPhone 5s is five or six months older than the S5 and still beats it in everything. The camera is perfect because they are much more natural photos than the S5 that are too sharp and saturated. The iPhone Touch ID is a thousand times better and more now with the update to iOS 7.1.1 and the 7-bit A64 chip makes it faster than the Samsung. The problem is that Samsung is Apple's competition and it keeps trying to outperform them when it is not nearly as successful. Samsung should worry about itself and outdo themselves with the terminals they bring out, and not spend every minute of their existence thinking about how to unseat Apple, because it is useless, they will never surpass it. I have the iPhone 5s and I'm going to tell you something, I would never change it for another Samsung, since I went from Galaxy S2 to iPhone 5s and it is the best thing I could have done in my life. Anyway, I know people with the Galaxy S4 who say they would switch to the iPhone with their eyes closed, and people who think that the S5 does not match the iPhone. But hey, to taste the colors, I of course, even if they offered me the best Samsung in the world, I would not change my iPhone. I prefer the elegance, sophistication and quality of the iPhone's design to the plastic of the Samsung.

iPhone and iOS is an excellent phone and operating system, and S5 and android are also, they are two different phones for two different types of consumers.

The truth is that the iphone 5s does not shade the light, on the other hand, as the S5 does, the S5 in low light does not work very well, they turn out dark and in the 5s it works a little better, the S5 shades the light and illuminates. a little more the image the 5s does not do it and that is a disadvantage since it cannot take the photos very well against the sun, whereas the S5 moderates the light. PS: fix your house and don't throw away the water that is running out :-D.

Have I seen a different video? It is very clear to me that the image definition is higher (better) in the 5S (iPhone, to avoid errors of fives and es), if the colors are more vivid in the galaxy, and? If in the end they are going to be saturated, that is not a good photo. I hated the change of camera when I went from a galaxy to an iPhone, for the simple fact that it hardly allows me to capture the colors closer to reality in a sunset, but against the light you get some magnificent shots that with the galaxy I never managed In conclusion, if I want real photographs, I use a real camera.

I have the 5s, and honestly ... I see a better image on the Samsung ... that's how things are, no matter how much it hurts, I remember once with a cousin comparing the cameras of the "Iphone 4" Vs "Htc desire HD", throwing a chameleon, I am ashamed ... iphone from my point of view has never carried a camera that could compete in the market and if it weren't for iOS this would be more than finished ... well and the design that also seems to me far superior to any Samsung .

  17.   Steven said

In the iPhone 5S you can see a more real image, and the photos are taken focusing well, because in some photos more light enters the Samsung than the iPhone 5S. The comparison does not seem at all 10/10. But as regards video according to Samsung capable of recording at 4K according to them, for me the modest 8 megapixel camera of the iPhone 5s looks much better. And finally, when it comes to Slow-Motion, there is nothing more to say, iPhone looks excellent… That's my opinion.

Make no mistake, the one who edited this video is an idiot, he put the changed names, shows the Iphone 5s and puts the name of the Galaxi s5.
