Gene Munster: "Virtual Reality will come to iOS in 2 years"

Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster has provided a report to his investors in which he explains that he believes that iOS will be the epicenter of Virtual Reality of Apple devices. He also dares to put an approximate deadline: within two years, in 2018 Apple will launch an SDK so that developers can implement it on third-party devices. Munster builds on the recent acquisitions of the company led by Tim Cook, both companies and hiring specialists in the field.

The analyst believes that Apple will make its mobile operating system compatible with applications from Mixed reality. His theory comes from a search conducted on LinedIn that reveals that Apple has at least 141 employees with knowledge of AR (Augmented Reality), a much lower number than the employees who work in this technology of Microsoft (425) and Google (267 ). We remember that Microsoft has already presented the HoloLens, the equipment that, for me, is the reference at this time.

According to Munster, Apple's Virtual Reality will be "Mixed Reality"

What is perhaps most interesting about the Munster report is when it talks about Mixed Reality. This technology would use cameras and sensors to blend holograms with real-life objects. But, isn't this what Microsoft presented at its last event? In any case, the analyst is not able to imagine what this new technology would be like and limits himself to saying that it would be a natural progression that would unite Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality.

Gene munster he is not the analyst who is most correct in their predictions. The last one he has done speaks of an Apple Watch "model S", something that would surprise me very much if it finally presents itself. In recent years you have believed that Apple would launch its own television and, as far as I know, this device has not yet arrived. In my opinion, a set-top box is a much more accessible device that we can take anywhere, so it is also easier for us to decide to buy it and renew it every 2-3 years. An Apple TV would be prohibitively priced and would only be bought by a lucky few. We will see what happens with "Mixed Reality", but I can also say that in the future there will be an evolution in, for example, the way in which devices get energy. Am I already an analyst?

Good article Pablo, every day you get better, I like the team that you have here now and your articles and Juan's in particular.
After the fall of Applesfera and its terrible articles, you are the only blog that I depend on to inform me about Apple news in Spanish, because I don't understand much in English unless I read 9to5mac and macrumors, even so, here you send the information with similar quality, thank you.
