Until the launch of this new feature, the only option to being able to perform the migration was through third-party applications, in a rather complicated process and that required having a computer at hand, to be able to move both the images and the videos to the new device, something that thanks to this new function is no longer necessary.
Users of the new Pixel and Pixel XL have a native application called Quick Switch Adapter, which allowed iPhone users to move all their information to the new Google terminal, but this application was only compatible with the new Pixels.
