A few weeks ago we informed you of the launch of Gboard, a new Google keyboard with which it wants to expand its ecosystem of applications on iOS. But It was only in English, so its use was mainly limited to English-speaking countries. Google has just updated the application adding support for keyboards in Spanish, German, Portuguese, Italian and French. But this latest update also allows us to customize the keyboard by selecting a darker keyboard or selecting a photograph to use in the background. Unlike most keyboards, all of the Gboard options are completely free.

Gboard offers us everything we can expect from a keyboard such as GIFs, writing by sliding a finger and emojis, but it also offers us an integrated search option through Google so that we will no longer have to change applications to perform a search and later share it through the keyboard. Many may think that being a Google keyboard, those of Mountain View can begin to collect all the information that we type through this keyboard, but Google makes it very clear in the description of the application.

What Gboard sends to Google:
• Gboard sends your searches to Google's web servers to provide you with results.
• Gboard also sends usage statistics to Google to help us know which features are used the most and understand why the app is crashing.

What Gboard doesn't send to Google:
• Gboard only sends your searches to Google and not the rest of the information you enter, be it a password or a chat with a friend.
• Gboard will remember the words you type to help you with spelling or to predict searches that may interest you. However, this data is only stored on your device and neither Google nor any other application besides Gboard will have access to it.
• If you've enabled contact search in Gboard's search settings, this allows Gboard to search your device's contacts so you can share more easily. None of this data will be sent to Google.
