The applications of maps they are with us daily. These apps have evolved incredibly from a few years ago until now. Thanks to its functions, they have been able to replace a gadget such as GPS. The evolution will continue with the passage of time, however, the current functions allow the average user not to get lost on the road and much more.
Google Maps has added the function "Follow" in the application for iOS since in Android it was already included for a few months. With this tool we can follow the activity of local businesses and establishments to receive updates and promotions, or even updates to an establishment's menu.

Users have the option to search among different options for which would be their ideal establishment. Following this line, Google Maps developed a platform called MyBusiness, that allowed locals and establishments to update their application profile as if it were a Twitter or Facebook wall. In this way, they could have a "direct" contact with those users interested in the establishment.
Later, they created the "Follow" function, with which you could follow a number of establishments and receive updates coming of My Business. In this way, Google turned Google Maps into an Instagram of establishments. These stores send periodic updates of promotions, menu updates or even discounts so that those who use the tool have an advantage over those who do not.
That "Follow" feature is rolling out across iOS since the last update. In the coming days, all users will receive the role and they will be able to start marking as favorites certain restaurants, shops or local businesses about which they want to have regular information thanks to My Business and the work of the owners of the establishments. On the other hand, all the information collected from the updates received are stored in "For you", a new space enabled in the menu at the bottom of the application.
