Google Maps updates its maps with a new color palette that offers us much more detail

A few years ago from Google's war with Apple over maps. Google was Apple's main map provider, and the Cupertino guys decided to put out their own maps. Apple Maps has been improving substantially, but the truth is that it is difficult to overshadow Google, why? for the huge amount of data they have from all over the world. Google Maps also improves, and now they do it with a new color palette that improves the level of detail of their maps. After the jump we tell you more about the improvements of Google Maps.

As you can see in the image that heads this post, Google wants to increase the detail of what we see on its maps thanks to a new color palette that show more accurately the different geographical features that surround an environment. Something that we will see especially in natural environments, they put Iceland as an example, but that we will also see in large cities since they also gain more detailed information than what we find in them thanks also to this new color palette. It is in the city where pedestrian information has also been improved so that we can move through them with total freedom and safety. Changes that have been carried out thanks to satellite images, which have then been translated into colors thanks to a new algorithm that takes into account more details of each region.

Una update of the maps that we should start to see in the coming days (at the time we write this article it is not yet available); and that joins the great facelift that the Google Maps app is undergoing (as well as its web interface), gaining functionalities from other Google applications. As I tell you, do not hesitate to try Google Maps for iOS, an excellent map navigation app (to plan and find any place in the world), and an incredible GPS app for your routes.
