The new Pixel 5a is Google's alternative to Apple's iPhone SE

Google Pixel 5a

While we wait for the launch of the new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro range, the search giant has just presented the Pixel 5a, a smartphone with which Google wants to gain a foothold in the mid-range and compete directly with the iPhone SE, the cheapest iPhone that Apple currently has on the market.

The new Pixel 5a, incorporates 5G connection, offers us a metal chassis, a large capacity battery, headphone connection… Specifications that make it an excellent option within the mid-range of Android, especially considering that it incorporates Android without any kind of customization layer and with 3 years of updates.

The new Pixel 5a offers us a 6,24-inch OLED technology screen with FullHD + resolution, HDR and 20: 9 aspect ratio. This new terminal is managed by the Snapdragon 765G together with the Adreno 620 graphic, all accompanied by 6 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.

This terminal will hit the market with Android 11 and will have, initially, 3 years of updates, for the 5 years of updates that the new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro range will have, so it is possible that those 3 years will be extended later.

In the photographic section, we find a 12,2 MP main camera with Dual Pixel technology, optical stabilize and an aperture of f / 1.7. The second chamber is a wide angle with 16 MP resolution and an aperture of f / 2.2. The front camera has a resolution of 8 MP and does not have autofocus.

The battery, one of its strongest points, reaches the 4.680 mAh, incorporates stereo speakers, IP67 certification and will hit the market for $ 449 in a single 128GB version. Unfortunately, as has happened with the Google Pixel 5, the Google Pixel 5a will not initially arrive in Spain.
