GPS with voice for iPhone and iPod Touch

The name of the application is xGPS and it will be available in Cydia COMING SOON. For now, the version that we can find in the repository does not have this novelty. This means that we have to have the iPhone or iPod Touch with the jailbreak done.

The program uses Google data by adding a speech engine. It also allows you to download the maps in case we are not going to have a network connection. Another feature is that It supports external GPS modules so both the iPhone 2.5G and the iPod Touch are xGPS compatible.

The video that heads the entry is a demonstration of its operation. Now let's see how long it takes for the first application of this style to appear in the AppStore.

Great !! That is, with a portable gps antenna plugged into the iPhone through bluetooth, it could be used without a connection, right?

By the way, how do you put offline maps on the iPhone?

    I hope he doesn't drive

  3.   nachazo said

You can download the current version, without voice prompts "loquendo" and with MANY bugs, quite unusable.
However, I think it is much better than "offline maps" to carry maps without internet.

In Cydia there are 2 files, the xGPS and xGPS Util, what is the second one for?

Do you have to install both at the same time?

  5.   Nacho said

Only the first, the second is to use the external GPS sold by said "company"

Can you put a tutorial on how to configure the application step by step so that it works? It gives me an error when I try to put the directions to go from one place to another. Do you have to enter the addresses in any special way? Street, city, province, country, backwards, with commas, with dots separating?

The same thing happens to me as Jorge, I get an error when entering directions when I tell him to make a route.

It happens to me like Jorge, it does not work for me when I put a destination address and the starting address is the gps position, however if I put an address in both the destination and the arrival address it works for me.

Good to me, the same thing happens to me, someone could explain how it has to be done.Thank you very much

Does anyone know how to activate the blue point of my location? The one that appears in Maps

    Hello,

To people who have problems to make a route on the map ... the problem is the following, the xGPS Soft is based on Google Maps ... that is, if you go to maps.google.com and try to trace the route there and not they can (either because it is not enabled in their country of origin, as in my case "Argentina") the problem is not from xGPS Soft ... it is from Google, that is, if it works in Google Maps, it works in xGPS and of course they must have a connection to carry out searches.

    Any questions leave it here!
    Bye! 😀

Does anyone know where you can buy the gps that is using that ipod tuch?

DOES NOT WORK WITH BLUETOOTH GPS.

    The iPhone's Bluetooth is CAPADO.

  15.   Homer2 said

Kornolio, the google maps works correctly for me but the xgps does not calculate the route for me, unless I put the two directions, departure and arrival, I do not know what this could be due to. If someone comes up with something?
    all the best

  16.   beto said

Googlemaps works for all of us, kornelio must be the only one who doesn't do it….
the problem is with the xgps, when they release the update it will work fine!
